Edith “Edie” Jackson was born on November 16, 1920 in Orion, AB. She went to be with God and his family on July 12, 2012 at the age of 91 years.
Edie will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She went to lots of hockey games and to many school dances where she did meet her future husband, as Eddie had played hockey, and banjo and violin in a band. They were married in Strongfield and lived in Elbow after they were married. Later Rodney was born in Central Butte and Connie in Outlook. They later moved to Regina where Mark and Kevin were born. Her children were most important to her, they were all taught the values of life and the importance of faith. All attended Central Lutheran church in Regina. She took on boarders and did the cooking, baking and laundry for all. As the family grew the boarders grew less. After the children left home she went to work at Woolworths and Fabricland. Her main home life was her gardening and especially her baking which she took pride in to this day. They moved to Legion Place in Melfort in their later years, and attended St. James Presbyterian Church. They so enjoyed all the music and singing of so many hymns that she loved. She joined the Seniors at church and Social Club at Legion Place where she continued to bake and bake and bake for all that enjoyed her tasty morsels. To so many people she will always be remembered as a classy lady.
She will always remember her special friend Hugh, who in the last few years enjoyed each other’s company. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her great joy and made her smile. She was so very proud of all of her accomplishments in life. Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and your friends will miss you so very much.
