Edith was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan on February 1st, 1925. She attended schools in Lafleche, Fife Lake and finally Weyburn, where she completed high school. At age nineteen Edith joined the R.C.A.F. and served in Rockliffe, Ottawa and in Borden, Ontario. Later she served in the Meteorology Department at Pat Bay, Vancouver Island. The family moved back to the Prairies in 1960 where Edith continued working as a nurse in hospitals in Moose Jaw, Regina and Prince Albert. Subsequently Edith worked as an instructor in the SIAST nursing program, retiring in 1990. In her retirement years Edith was able to indulge her love of travel. She and Ralph made trips to Europe, the British Isles, and the Isle of Jersey, birthplace of her father. Ralph and Edith wintered in Victoria for many years, where Edith enjoyed long walks out to Ogden Point. Edith was the heart of her family.
