Duncan Fraser

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Duncan James Fraser announces his passing on February 19, 2015 at the Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. His battle with cancer was over and The Lord decided to give him rest and peace. He was 67 years of age.
Duncan was born on July 1, 1947 in Prince Albert, SK. and he grew up and spent all of his life in the Debden area. He worked as a logger and a farmer for many years and he was always available to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Duncan enjoyed buying old farm equipment and fixing them up so he could use them on the farm. He loved visiting with family and friends and if someone was musically inclined, he would get them to sing and play the guitar or violin. He enjoyed old country songs and he often sang along or danced to the music. Growing a garden was his greatest joy and there was always fresh vegetables on the table.
Duncan was predeceased by his parents James Hay and Gwendeline Fraser, his daughter Tracey Margaret Fraser and three grandchildren.
Duncan will be sadly missed by his partner Liz Bird, his children Shelley, Steve, Terry, Tracey, Duncan Jr., Verna, Orville, Curtis, LeeAnn, and Alister as well as his twenty-three grandchildren and his sisters Brenda and Margaret.
The funeral service was officiated by Delores Beaulac at the Elks Hall in Canwood, SK on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Psalms 23 was read by Shelley Fraser, hymns and music was by Tyson Bueckert and Richard Braidek. Shared memories were given by Jake Fehr and Maria Bear-Johnson. The eulogy was read be Jacqueline LePage. The active pallbearers were George Netmaker, Larry Chalifour, Harley Lundgren, Grant Lehman, Claude Frechette, Jason Frechette, Brian Fraser and Alister Bird. The honorary pallbearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Duncan’s life. Duncan’s final resting place was at the Canwood North Cemetery.
