Duncan Christopher Rylan Bennett
Also lovingly known as, DJ and NACNUD
Duncan was born on August 2, 1992 in Regina, SK to his chosen parents, Duncan JP Bennett and Shari Mackin. We sadly lost our wonderful son at the age of 32.
Duncan grew up and attended school in Christopher Lake, SK., with his sister Shariden and his brother Tyrus, his mom, and step dad, Denis. Duncan enjoyed spending time with his siblings and his numerous friends. Duncan was a beaver and cub scout member, he loved the outdoors. Duncan played ball, soccer, lacrosse, and hockey. He then became an avid skateboarder. Duncan had a zest for music and picked up a guitar and was then able to play many instruments, his true love was the banjo. Thank you to his music teachers, Ben and Cactus Jack. Duncan spent many of his teenage years living with this Dad, step mom Christine, baby sister Rylan, and Grandpa Duncan. He attended Martin Collegiate in Regina and then PACI in Prince Albert. Duncan was a very hard worker and started his first job with my special friend Sheila, in the food industry, at the ripe age of 14. At 15, he tried sheet metal work, then joined his Uncle Rob and Uncle Rick in construction and concrete. At 18 he started a coating and sandblasting career on the pipeline, where he made fond friendships with many across Canada. Duncan had many adventures living life to his fullest. Ramling the rails, hiking the trails, busking along the way. Duncan spent the last 8 years of his life in Vancouver, B.C., where he had a great struggle with addictions. Duncan sadly passed away Labour day weekend in 2024. He had an amazing team of support living with the TAWOW Health and Wellness. Thank you to the Downtown Community Court Management Team for your kindness and love you showed to our son. He had such an amazing support team and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, for always standing behind our son. We felt so blessed to have this lifeline to him, through all of you. I would travel to Vancouver often to visit Duncan, on one of my visits I said son, I don’t know how to find the words. He said mom, sometimes things are just meant to be felt.
Friends have sent these to the family;
Duncan exuded a humble calmness that he will carry to those who need it, with a spiritual freedom, that heaven can provide.
Duncan was an old soul, a mystical magic man who possessed ancient wisdom and touched young and old generations. Gifted beyond years, who saw through and past all imperfections. None judgmental, kind, loving and empathized, showed compassion and one of the most precious beautiful souls ever known. He was truly one of a kind. You have become the music of our soul. Thank you.
Duncan was predeceased by his grandparents, Dixie-lee and Bud Tripp. Duncan will be sadly missed by our entire family. Our hearts are weeping, but we know that Duncan is safe and happy. A very special thank you to cousin Tagen for going to Duncan’s home and ensuring that our boy crossed over. Thank you to Uncle Darcy for taking on the task of our boy’s arrangements, we love you Uncle. A celebration of life will be held August long-weekend 2025. Friends and family will be notified as to the arrangements.
