Dr. Rory McIntosh, late of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on August 20, 2025, at the age of 69 years.

A well-respected Forest Entomologist, Rory worked in the Forest Service Branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment for 25 years. He was strongly committed to forest health in Saskatchewan and the rest of Canada. The “bug doctor” was also committed to education and was often seen in classrooms sharing his passion for insects.

Rory loved nature and the outdoors, with a particular fondness for fishing. Anyone who spent time with him in the forest was treated to a wealth of interesting and sometimes obscure wisdom.

Rory had a passion for playing and watching many sports. This led to his deep involvement in the Prince Albert soccer community. For many years, he was involved with the Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association as president, a coach, and a referee.

Rory will be deeply missed by his wife, Julie; his two sons, Thomas (Logan) and Duncan; his brother, Jamie; along with extended family, friends, and colleagues.
