Douglas “Ronnie” Roberts was born on Thursday, January 12, 1956, in Trade Lake, SK, and passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, in Wynyard, SK, at the age of 60 years. Ronnie is survived by his loving family, his wife, Alice (nee McKenzie) Roberts, his children, Karen (Glen McLeod) McKenzie, Linda (Leon) Charles, Ron Jr. (Cheryl) Roberts, Simon (Mindy McLeod) Roberts, his grandchildren, Fiona (Andy) Ballantyne, Daphne Charles, Martin McKenzie, Kristin McKenzie, Nichole Charles, Michelle Charles, Naomi Charles, Conner Roberts, Aiden Roberts, Jerome Roberts, Jade Roberts and Jaycee Roberts, his great-granddaughter, Cassadee “Crazy Chapan” Charles, his great-grandson, Luke Ballantyne, his special nephews, Brandon Clarke, Doane McKenzie, John Joe Charles, Sandy John McKenzie, Terry McKenzie and Lazarus Roberts, his godson, Darrell Douglas Roberts, his brothers and sisters, Amelia (Stan) Cook, Hilda (Nathan) McKenzie, Cora (Wilson) Ballantyne, Rose (Philip) McKenzie, Flora (Jimmy) McKenzie, Lester (Eleanor) Roberts, Wilson (Amelia) Roberts, Adam Roberts, Benny (Mary) Roberts and Norman McKenzie, and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jean (Adam) Charles, Linda (Silas) McKenzie, Eliza McKenzie, Minnie McKenzie, Annie E. McKenzie, Russell (Lorna) McKenzie and Martin (Melissa) McKenzie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Roberts, his father- and mother-in-law, John and Betsy McKenzie, his sisters, Jeannie Hardlotte and Angela Roberts (in infancy), his nieces, Julie McKenzie, Nora Cook and Eliza Cook (in infancy), his nephews, Doane T. McKenzie and Mike Roberts (in infancy), his brothers-in-law, James D. “Big Jim” McKenzie and Benjamin McKenzie, his brother, Mike Roberts, and his aunt, Maggie D. Charles. Ronnie’s wake will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at the family home in Stanley Mission, SK, continuing at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK, Reverend Richard Custer and Reverend Elias Ballantyne officiating. Interment will follow at Stanley Mission Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, SK, Don Moriarty, funeral director, and Lac La Ronge Funeral Home, La Ronge, SK, Debra Klassen, funeral director.
