Douglas is lovingly remembered by his family, his children, Joanne, Sheena, Doug Jr.; his grandchildren, Brock, Mary, Brittaney, Ryan, Sarah, Bradley, Patrick, Lyon; three other grandkids; his step-father, Ovide Ballantyne; his sisters, Mary Jane Michel, Jackie Michel, Connie (Jay) Yeo, Shirley (Raymond) Ballantyne; his brothers, Ronald (Darlene) Michel, Ovide Michel; his aunties and uncles, Evelyn McCallum Sr., Margaret Michel (Ernest), Irene Merasty, Nancy Michel, James Michel, Rose Michel, Leland Michel, Ernestine Toews (Mike), Madeline Bighetty (Ernest), Mary Jane (Ron) McCallum, Alex McCallum (Maggie), Singadore McCallum, Bella Michel, Phillip Michel; his nieces and nephews, Neil Michel, Nico Michel, Nikita Michel, Tammy Merasty (Steven Merasty), Tanya Michel, Brett Michel, Stephanie Ballantyne, Delwyn Morin, Dillion Morin, Angelique McKay Jr., Creedan, Alannis, Alayna, Natasha, Saxon, and Fisher Yeo.

He was predeceased by his children, Christopher Ryan Michel, Brittany Kaye Michel; his parents, Eugenie (nee McCallum) Michel Ballantyne, Cornelius Michel; his grandparents, Solomon & Louisa Michel, Horace & Marie Adele McCallum; his brother, Arthur Michel; his sisters, Lorraine (nee Michel) Custer, Angeline (nee Ratt) Custer; his uncles and aunties, Adolph McCallum, Giselle Morin, J B McCallum, Mary Bloomfield, Robert Ronnie Michel, Napolean Michel, Clara Michel, Arthur Merasty, Gilbert Michel, George A., Michel, Clarence O. Michel, Harriette Michel, Clara Michel; his cousins, Jimmy Dorion, Norman, Johnny, Raymond; his nephew, Dorion Michel; his brother-in-law, Thomas Charles, and John John Custer.

The Prayer Service will be held for Douglas at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, July 23, 2021, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK, with Father D.J. Vu officiating. The Wake Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Pelican Narrows Band Hall, in Pelican Narrows, SK; and the Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, in Pelican Narrows, SK, with Father Heinner Paucar officiating.
