Douglas “Doug” Wayne FRISKE

November 24, 1948 – July 19, 2016

Doug passed away tragically at RUH in Saskatoon, SK on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the age of 67 years.  He was born in Prince Albert, SK on November 24, 1948 to Otto and Daisy Friske.  He had a heart of gold and a smile to match.  He loved to be with his family most of all and enjoyed and loved them all.  He was always there to help family and friends and expected nothing in return.  He also loved the outdoors and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  Doug is survived by his daughter Samantha Friske; his son Jared Friske (longtime girlfriend Kendall McEwen); Peggy Heuven, the mother of his children; his sister Joan (Bob) Hall & children, Wade (Julie) Hall & children Jessica and Rebbecca; Ashley (John) Shaw & children Bria, Camden and Carson; Kaley (Jeff) Herman & children Hadley & Corbin; his sister Phyllis (Len) Girling & children Brad (Angie) Girling & daughter Maddie; Mathew Girling;  his brother Donald Friske & children Anika, Cole, Sayla and Meara; as well as other relatives and friends; his beloved dogs Bailey and Rocky and his horses Ty, Cheyenne and Senior.  He was predeceased by his father Otto Friske in July 1962 and his mother Daisy in February 2010.  Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Lily Plain Hall with Reverend Rick Martin officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to Stars Air Ambulance, 2475 Airport Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1M4 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or to a Children’s Charity of Choice.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
