Dorothy Looyestein passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
She was born in St. Catherine, Ontario on April 14, 1959.
She is survived by her loving husband Ken Carriere and son Kees Kisem Carriere of AirRonge, Saskatchewan; her stepdaughters Melissa Petit of Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan and Aidan Niskala of Regina, Saskatchewan; and her stepson Nathan Niskala of Montreal, Quebec.
She is also survived by her brother John Looyestein and sister-in-law Karen Looyestein of St. Catherine, Ontario; her niece Rachel; nephews Joshua and Jacob in Ontario; and her relatives in Ontario and The Netherlands.
She was predeceased by her parents Jon and Dierkje Looyestein, her brother Jackie Looyestein in St Catherine, Ontario, and her first husband Keith Macauley from LaRonge.
Dorothy retired from the Saskatchewan Government Civil Service after 27 years on December 24, 2021. She did volunteer work for Cross Country Ski events in La Ronge and for other Northern Saskatchewan Sports and Recreation.
Wake will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 and Thursday, July 7, 2022 beginning at 7:00 PM at the family home. 231 Dehavilland Avenue, Air Ronge SK
