Dorothy Chester (nee Kirkness)
November 14, 1922 – October 25, 2010
Mom and Gramma was most kind and loving. She was really next to perfect in everything she did. She worked along with dad to make as wonderful and secure a family life as possible. It was a trial some time, with sickness, etc., but never did mom complain about anything. All she did was for her husband and children. She never had a harsh word about anyone and was just the sweetest, absolute lady-like, always grateful for everything anyone did for her, especially in her last month of life during her illness.
Leaves to mourn her are her children: Lawrence Arthur Chester (Linda) of Markham, ON, Lynda Irene Clarke (Danny) of Oliver, BC, Leslie Terrence Chester of Victoria, BC, Heather Maryanne Zapotoczny (Emil) of Courtenay, BC; grandchildren: Jennifer, Caitlin, Rachel and nine great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband of nearly 64 years, George in May 2006; her brothers: Clayton, Louis, Art, Edward and Russell (twin); her sisters, Illa, Jean, Betty and Daisy; Grandson Brendan and granddaughter Micheline.
“You held my hand when I drew my first breath of life and I promised to hold your hand as you drew your last breath of life.” (from daughter, Heather) St. Joseph's hospital, Comox, BC.
No service as requested by mom. Mom passed away with the sure hope of the resurrection into paradise.
