October 5, 1918 – June 17, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Madaline Chester (nee Wilson) after a very rewarding and fulfilling lifetime.
Dorothy is survived by her loving son Roger E. Johnson (Dona Scheible); sister Doreen Wilson; daughter-in-law Carol Johnson; granddaughters Brenda (Mark) Gross, Cindy (Todd) Lorenz, Ashley Lorenz, Logan Lorenz, Jayden Gross and Devin Gross and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill Chester; husband Elmer Johnson; parents Joseph and Hattie Wilson and brothers Bert Wilson and Wilbur Wilson.
Dorothy was born to Joseph and Hattie Wilson in Northgate, SK on October 5, 1918. Being the daughter of a Station Agent she lived in many small Saskatchewan towns. She married Elmer Johnson in 1939 on a farm in eastern Alberta. Her son Roger was born in 1940. In 1950 she completed her nurses training at New Westminster, BC and moved to Prince Albert to begin her career. She married Bill Chester in 1954 and remained in the Prince Albert Area until her passing at the Good Shepherd Villas.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Interment will be held at Christopher Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Good Shepherd Villa, 1499 – 15th Avenue East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 7S1. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
