The family of Doris Virginia Sharp (nee Pocha) announce her passing October 3, 2016 after a lengthy stay at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Doris was born in Prince Albert on July 30, 1938 to Wilson and Christy Pocha, the fourth of 6 children. She grew up on the family farm in the Lindsay District where there was lots of hard work and lots of fun. She is survived by her sisters: Rita Potter and Vera Dunning; brother-in-law: Gerald Campbell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband: Leonard Sharp; her partner of many years: Ernie Thiessen; parents: Wilson and Christy Pocha; brothers: Melvin and Kenneth Pocha; sister: Rozina Campbell; sister-in-law: Jessie Pocha (Lewis); brothers-in-law: John Potter and Lloyd Dunning; and great- nephew Andrew Duncan. Funeral service will be held on Friday October 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 130 – 9th St. E, Prince Albert, SK, with Rev. Susan Salo officiating. Luncheon at Royal Canadian Legion will immediately follow the service. A private family interment will be held at the Lindsay Cemetery after the luncheon. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, 133 – 8th St. E, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 0V8. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium.
