The Toronto Blue Jays lost a devoted fan and we lost a wonderful mother and baba Doris Oleksuik (Kalika) who passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 83 years. Doris is survived by her children; Betty, Darrell (Jean) , Shirley Tienkamp (Darrell Prokopie); grand children and great-grand children (whom she loved with all her heart), Arianna, Jonathan; Steven; Nathan; Larissa (Ethan Kirtzinger); Cody (Amanda), Nickolas and Chasity Tienkamp; Michael (Nach Spademan) Tienkamp, Peyton, Ava and Haydn; Carson Tienkamp; Kyla (Jesse Stasiuk); her siblings, Ernie Kalika and Sylvia Kalinowski; sister-in-law, Jeanette Oleksuik; and many nieces and nephews and extended friends that she was Baba or Mom to.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Peter; her parents, Michael and Maria Kalika; brother in infancy, Andrew; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Peter Matwechuk; brother-in-law, John Kalinowski; sister-in-law, Sylvia Kalika; nephew, Ray Kalika; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anton and Anna Oleksuik; sister-in-law, Mary Oleksuik; brother-in-law, Walter Oleksuik; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Bill Arsenault; nephew, Ed Seto
A Celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the lower level of St. Joseph’s Parish, 260 25 St E, Prince Albert, SK.
