DORIS (RABUT) HALCRO
1943 – 2013
It is with profound sadness we announce that Doris passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Victoria Hospital with her daughters and sisters by her side after a brief battle with cancer. Doris was born on August 21, 1943 in Regina, SK, to Rene and Anna Rabut, then moved to Domremy, SK, where she was raised. Doris married Ken Halcro in 1963 and had two daughters Shelly and Gail, and resided in Prince Albert. During this time, Doris was employed at Motor Licences, D.N.S., and S.P.M.C. where she retired from. Doris had many passions which included many summer months spent at their cabin in Weyakwin where she enjoyed fishing and playing cards. She loved gardening, bowling, cooking and a few bus tours with her sisters. Doris was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She touched the lives and hearts of everyone she met. Doris is survived by her loving family: her husband of 49 years Ken Halcro, daughters Shelly (Brian) Grimard and Gail Crawford (Gerald Gobeil); grandchildren Brandon (Janique) Grimard, Dustin Grimard (Ashley Martin) Ryan (Krista) Crawford, Ashley Crawford (Devon LaVallee), Kayla Crawford (Johnny Wilken), Joshua Gobeil, Brody Gobeil and step grandson Joey Gobeil; great grandchildren Meika, Shianna, Logan, Landon, Ethan and Maxx; father Rene Rabut; sisters Sylvianne (Doug) Halcro, Lucy McDougall (Craig Inkster), Irene (Wayne) Miner and Annette (Greg) Chicoine; brother George (Cory) Rabut; in-laws Don (Jean) Halcro, Leonard Halcro, Joan Barmby-Halcro, Audrey (Rick) Barber, Floyd (Lucy) Halcro, Carmen Halcro, Bruce (Dori) Halcro; numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her mother Anna Rabut; sister and brother-in-law Raymonde and Stanley Royer; nephew Eddy Royer; in-laws Austin and Marjorie Halcro, Les Halcro, Cyril Halcro and Lila Halcro. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Sister Renée Buliard will officiate. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 1 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4 Avenue West by Father Maurice Fiolleau. Interment will take place in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
