It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear and loving mother, Doreen Blenda (Dobron) LeMoal. Doreen passed away at home in Red Wing Terrace surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer on September 03, 2021, at the age of 85. Doreen and husband Charlie lived and raised their family in this home, residing there for over 62 years.
Doreen was born on January 27, 1936, in Gronlid, SK. She completed Grade 10 and then started working. She met and married Charlie LeMoal and moved to Prince Albert where she began a job at the Sanatorium and North Park Centre until her early retirement after 35 years of service. Doreen stayed connected with her fellow North Park co-workers, helping to arrange monthly luncheons until halted by Covid-19.
Doreen will be dearly missed by her three children, daughter Candy (Brian) Goodwin from Peter Pond; daughter Bev (Murray) Drew from Saskatoon; and son Robert LeMoal from Vancouver, BC; her six grandchildren, Jason (Kendra) Goodwin; Josh (Kim) Goodwin; Jill (Brandon) Etcheverry; Zach (Rachel) Drew; Martine (Tanqueray) Strange; and Nina (Phil) DeVeno, and her beloved great grandchildren, Oliver, Owen, Jaxson, Olivia, Casey, and Eli. She will be missed by her sister Pearl Paluk from Prince Albert whom she loved dearly. In later years, they were fondly known as the “Cane Sisters” and went out for meals regularly. Doreen will also be missed by her sister-in-law Marie Hazelton and her niece Brenda (Ron) Taschuk from Calgary.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles LeMoal, seven years ago; her mother Elsie (Dobrowolski/Dobron) Lindborg and father Paul Dobrowolski/Dobron/De Bron, and many Aunts, Uncles, relatives, and in-laws.
Family was very important to Doreen. She researched and kept detailed family history records and sent regular hand-written letters to distant relatives. Doreen had many dear friends that she treasured. Phone calls to some of them happened almost daily.
A memorial will be planned soon, and friends and relatives will be notified.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the proposed ‘Rose Garden Hospice’ in Prince Albert or to Prince Albert Home Care, who provided such excellent care and support for both Doreen and Charlie and their family caregivers.
