DOREEN ANN SYLVESTER
January 24, 1943 – March 2, 2014
Doreen passed away in her home at the age of 71. She enjoyed singing harmonies with her twin sister Donna as they grew up with brother Russ and sister Debbie at their home at 20 Northmount Crescent in Calgary. She also cherished time spent with her close grandparents, Baba and Jijo in Saskatoon. While in Saskatoon, Doreen met Greg on a blind date and they were married on May 23, 1964. They started a family and had two kids, Doug and Lisa. Doreen loved being a mom and devoted herself to her family. She loved spending time in her backyard with her children and her dogs – her special place on earth. She loved fishing, campfires and swimming and especially enjoyed the sunsets at Candle Lake. She was an active volunteer in her community and spent countless hours at the Good As New Store in Prince Albert. She was predeceased by her husband Greg – the love of her life. She was also predeceased by her twin sister Donna, and Baba and Jijo. She is survived by her son Doug (Louise), their sons Devon and Dylan Sylvester; her daughter Lisa, her sons David and Thomas Olson. She is also survived by her parents Cliff and Ann Beatty, brother Russ Beatty; her sister Debbie (Jim) Bergquist. A celebration of Doreen’s life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:00 p. m. at River Park Memorial Chapel, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, with Pastor Nora Vedress officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka, Funeral Director.
