Donnie Desjarlais

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Donnie Desjarlais, 49 years of age on February 9th, 2016. Donnie was born June 10th, 1966 in the City of Regina, Saskatchewan. He came to Prince Albert with his family in 1968, thus Prince Albert, Saskatchewan came to be known as home. He attended school in Prince Albert and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1984. He went on to the University of Regina majoring in Psychology and Native Studies. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Vanis. His children, Son Devin and Daughter Kennedy. His mother Bernice (Richard), Sisters Pamela (Cameron), Heather (Charlie) and Brother, Walter Jr.(Hayley). He also leaves to mourn many close friends and his many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Walter Desjarlais Sr.
Donnie loved to be outdoors and enjoyed the fresh air. He enjoyed karaoke parties or going out to karaoke events-competitions. He enjoyed spending time with his son, doing father and son activities such as camping, fishing and boating. He really enjoyed relaxing at home working on various projects around the house and improving their yard. Road trips were alway stop priority for his family and they never hesitated to hit the road at the spur of the moment. He had a sense of humor and could make anyone laugh if they needed cheering up, this will be missed by all who knew him.
At his request there will be no service or funeral, as his family will hold a private service at a later date, he wanted those who knew him, to cherish his memory and remember him in their own way. Arrangements entrusted to Warman Funeral Home.
