Donna Lynne LeCorre
March 31, 1955- April 20, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donna (Allen) LeCorre. Donna had a lengthy battle with several different health issues and passed away at the Victoria Hospital with her family by her side at the age of 69.
Donna was born to Robert and Sarah (Beresh) Allen on March 31, 1955, in Prince Albert, SK. She grew up in the city and attended PACI. As a child, she loved to visit her grandma’s farm in the Red Deer Hill district. She enjoyed spending time with the farm animals and sharing the stories of her summers there. These were some of her most fond memories. From a young age, Donna had a great love for animals, and that continued throughout her lifetime.
She met her future husband George LeCorre in 1974, a year later they were married and spent 48 years building their life together. They lived in town for a short time, before moving to the farm on Whitfield Road in 1976. In 1977 they had their first son, Shane, followed by their second son Jamie two years later.
Donna chose to stay home to raise their two boys. In their early years, there were a lot of great times on the farm and in town at the bowling alley. As the boys got older Donna spent many hours alongside the soccer pitches and countless hours in the hockey rinks all over Prince Albert and surrounding areas. Being a mom meant everything to Donna and her family was her priority throughout her entire life.
As the kids grew up, Donna had a desire to join the workforce outside of the home. She followed her passion for animals gaining employment at Brays Pet Store followed by several receptionist jobs at doctors’ offices in Prince Albert.
Donna was a friendly, caring person with a big heart. She was excited to have grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She cherished every moment with them and loved each of them deeply.
Donna enjoyed a meal out and was always up for lunch at her favorite restaurants sharing a laugh and conversation with the people in her life. She always had time for you and even when she wasn’t feeling well enough to meet you in person, you would always receive a thoughtful message or meme through her phone. The people in her life mattered to Donna and nothing made her happier than staying connected, even if all she could do was share a photo through text message.
Donna had a lot of respect and compassion for the elderly. Throughout her life, Donna took on the role of caregiver for those who struggled to care for themselves. She spent most of her later years taking care of family members or friends making sure they had their various needs taken care of.
Donna was a caregiver through and through. She took in every stray animal that needed care even if it meant bottle-feeding them. During the pandemic years, when she had limited opportunities to be out and about, she found great joy in watching the deer in the yard on her security camera. Right from the comfort of her easy chair, she would enthusiastically watch them interacting and playing with each other. There was an undeniable connection between her and animals and as a family, we were grateful she could spend her isolated days watching her fur friends.
Donna is forever loved and will be deeply missed by her husband George LeCorre. Her son Shane LeCorre (Corliss Rassyle), and their children Kade and Josie LeCorre, Cassidy Freisen (Zac), Kayle (Mitch), and Cole Ratti. Her son Jamie LeCorre (Adrienne) and their children Maeve and Hadley. Her step-granddaughter Darian Young, and numerous relatives and friends.
Donna was predeceased by her parents Robert and Sarah (Beresh) Allen and an infant sister. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mackenzie Chapel Brian & Bev Stobbs, Mark Gyoerick, Jordyn Jacobson, Mel Curle.
