Donna Darlene Stevenson
April 9, 1957 – December 27, 2013
Donna passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Donna retired in May from Siast Woodland Campus after 32 years of service. She was known for her dedication to her work, kind heartedness, sense of humor and laugh. Donna was born in Truro, NS and although she lived in SK her heart always yearned for the ocean and “home”. Her dream of one last trip to NS with her entire family wasn’t possible due to her declining health. After moving to Prince Albert in the late 80’s, Donna founded and was president of a chapter of PWP (Parents Without Partners). She held this position until the chapter closed. Donna had a great love of flowers and together with her sister they created a park-like setting in the backyard. She spent many hours planting or just enjoying the view. Every day in warm weather she would do a “walk about” to see what new plant or flower had appeared. Donna’s greatest achievement were her two children, Graham and Tara and later her four grandsons Carson, Arron, Logan and Jaxson. She was the most dedicated mother and grandmother. Her greatest sorrow was leaving them behind. Donna is survived by her son Graham (Sabrina) Mackenzie & grandsons Arron and Logan; her daughter Tara (Danny) Brown & grandsons Carson and Jaxson; her step granddaughter Dakota of Lloydminster; her father Ronald and step mother Jean Stevenson of LaRonge; her sister Debbie Stevenson of Prince Albert; her sister-in-law Yoland Urquhart; her niece Jackie; her nephew Nick and step daughter Pam; her two loving companions Desi and Lucy. She was predeceased by her mother Nina (Lattie); her brother James Stevenson and step brother Larry Urquhart. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Val Bodnaryk. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA, PO Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier Director.
