It’s with great sadness that I announce the death of my dear husband Donald Clair Myers, who passed away at Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital on Sunday, July 14, 2013. “Clair” was born in Belmont, Manitoba on August 27, 1937 to Robert (Bob) and Margaret Myers. He spent his youth in Belmont and upon reaching the age of 18, he left for Ottawa to begin training as an RCMP. His first posting, as a brand-new proud officer was in Fort Qu’Appelle and finally retiring at the Prince Albert Detachment, following a 31 year span of enjoyable service with the Force working at various posting throughout Saskatchewan. Clair is survived by his loving wife Vivian, son Kevin (Delaine), daughter Colleen Bruce, step-sons Wylie (Shirley) and Mike Simmonds, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Elwood (Donna), his sister Marie Young, sisters-in-law Clara and Judy as well as former son- in-law and good friend Murray Bruce. He also leaves Vivian’s two sisters, Carol and Delores and his mother-in-law Lucy Dubeta. Predeceasing Clair were his parents, “Bob” and Margaret, brothers Carl and Brian, brother-in-law Keith Young, as well as father-in-law Walter Dubeta and very recently, due to a vehicle accident, his nephew Jason. Clair’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at St. Paul’s ICU and 5th floor staff for their caring and understanding of Clair. Also held in acclaim is the nursing staff on the 5th floor of the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert. Thank You! A memorial graveside service and internment will take place at the Belmont Hillside Cemetery in Belmont, Manitoba.
