Dolores (Hagen) Lavoie

It is with great sadness that the family of Dolores (Hagen) Lavoie announces her passing on December 29, 2013 at the age of 83 years in Wheatland Lodge, Leask, SK. Dolores is survived by her loving husband: Gerald; one son: Allan Hagen of Birch Hills, SK; three daughters: Jean (Armand) Denis of Domremy, SK, Jo-Ann (Jerry) Seufert of Sturgeon County, AB and Jacquie (Wade) Hoffman of Duchess, AB; one son-in-law: Marty Braaten of Birch Hills, SK; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and one brother: Dennis (Beth) Johnson of Saskatoon, SK. Dolores was predeceased by her husband: Andy; her parents: Mary and Gunnar Johnson; her daughter: Judy; her son: Donald; her granddaughter: Faye; and one son-in-law: Brad Getz. Mom was born in Gronlid, SK. on February 26, 1930 and shortly after moved with her family to Hagen where she grew up and married her first love, Andy. Together they raised 5 children on the farm. In the summer, mom was a gardener with a passion for flowers; in winter, there was time for curling. As grandchildren arrived on the scene they became her greatest pride and joy with many cherished memories of time spent at the cabin. Many years after the tragic loss of Andy she married Gerald and they moved to Blaine Lake, SK. They both had a love for dancing, and also, she now had more time for her many crafts including painting. The last two years of her life were spent in Wheatland Lodge. The family would like to thank all the staff members at Wheatland Lodge, Leask, SK, for the loving care given to mom while residing there. A Funeral Service for Dolores will take place Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Saron Lutheran Church, Hagen, SK.
