Diane Elizabeth Wallace
February 14, 1945 – March 10, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Diane Wallace, who left us on March 10th at the age of 80. Diane was born on February 14th, 1945 in Red Hill, Surrey, UK, the eldest daughter of John and Doris Koenig.
Diane lived a full and happy life surrounded by her beloved family and friends. She enjoyed nothing more than playing bridge and bingo with friends, watching sports (particularly curling), and baking with her grandchildren. She was an avid volunteer in the community of Prince Albert and had a varied career path including legal secretary, bookkeeper, blackjack dealer, and (begrudgingly) pizza store manager.
Diane was predeceased by: her parents, John and Doris; her brothers Roy and Michael; and her sisters Susan and Debbie. She is survived by: her daughters Dayle (Luis) and Traci (Kirk); her son Darren; her sister Jennifer (Albert); her brother Trevor (Wendy); her auntie Jean; grandchildren Jamie (Mark), Josh (Meagan), Shane, Zoe, Sophia, Logan (Josh), Jake, and Sydney; great-grandchildren Scarlett, Maxwell, William, Sunny, and Mabel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and treasured friends. Diane’s greatest joy in her life was her family and she wasted no opportunity to tell her grandchildren that her “heart burst with pride”.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel (575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK), with a short lunch to follow. All who knew and loved Diane are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Prince Albert branches of Meals on Wheels or Big Brothers, Big Sisters in honor of Diane’s memory.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the wonderful teams at Points West and the Victoria Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their outstanding support, love and care for Diane.
Family and friends may leave online condolences at: https://grays.ca
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729, Mary MacWilliams, Funeral Director.
