Diana Fischer

Diana Faye Fischer (Leland) passed peacefully from this life on March 14, 2018 to be with her saviour, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love of her family in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
Diana was born in Kinistino, SK on April 19, 1943. She attended the Weldon School and then went on to business college in Prince Albert. In 1963 she married Elmer Fischer and they resided in Weldon their entire lives. Diana was a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed her community in which she was very involved serving in various capacities. In 2001, she shared an award with Elmer for the Weldon Citizen of the Year. In 2017 she was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region for 45 years of volunteer service visiting, singing, and playing piano at the Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino.
Diana loved spending time with her family, playing the piano and organ in church, singing for different functions and meticulously looking after her house and yard beautified by many flowers.
Diana is lovingly remembered by her son Terry (Debbie) Fischer and daughter Treena (Mark) Stephen, grandchildren Travis Stephen, Matthew (Kristy) Fischer, and Sara (Quang) Pham, her sister Cheryl Jackson, her brothers Brian (Norma) Leland, Allan (Colleen) Becker, sisters-in-law Laurel Fisher, Shirley Fischer, Rose Marie (Raymond) Ehalt, brother-in-law Daniel (Janice) Fischer and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer, parents Alfred Leland, Edna (Leland) Becker, step-father Harry Becker, father-in-law Ignatius Fischer, mother-in-law Helen Fischer, sister Janet (Becker) Harder, brothers-in-law David Jackson, Arnold Fisher, Clarence Fischer and Marcellus Fischer.
Celebration of her life will be held at the Lake Park Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:00pm with Pastor Brian Langendoen officiating. Memorial donations will be made to the Weldon Country Villa or a charity of choice.
