DENNIS JOHN GRAVEL
September 10, 1963 – July 8, 2011
Dennis unexpectedly passed away at home at the age of 47 years. He was born in Prince Albert, SK and graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School. Dennis’ pride and joy was his family and enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his two daughters, grandson and granddaughter-to-be. He also had a passion for cars, poker tournaments in Las Vegas and traveling south to Arizona where he golfed in the sun. Dennis was full of life, humor and continuously made those around him smile. He was very giving towards, not only his family, but to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
His career life included selling real estate for several years in Prince Albert, then moving on to Alberta to become an owner/operator of a convenience/gas station in Whitecourt followed by Wetaskiwin. After a few years he returned home to operate a new convenience store called Goodies. Dennis then went on to owning his own second hand store, Bi-Lo Second Hand, as well as purchasing and selling used vehicles. This led him to Schmalz Auto Sales as an Auto Sales Manager.
He is survived by his two daughters Alison Janet (Marcus) Read and Samantha Mae Gravel; his one grandson Hiro Thomas Read and soon-to-be granddaughter; the mother of his children Susan Polowski; his one brother Raymond Gravel; his two sisters Brenda Bender and Diane Abbott; his aunt Laurette Tessier and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Alice (nee Tatlow) Gravel.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Tony Thompson will officiate. Interment will take place in Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lesley Sully, Funeral Director.
