We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother Denise who passed away peacefully on Friday October 20, 2023 surrounded by family at the age of 64.

Denise is survived by her husband Lawrence Cochet, sons Zachary Cochet and Nicholas (Kaila) Cochet, granddaughter Madelynn Cochet, daughter Armel (Devan Rogers) Cochet, mother Marie Hannotte, brothers Marc (Paula Rocha) Hannotte, Andre (Diane) Hannotte, Gerry (Therese) Hannotte and sisters Monique (Martin) Detillieux, Louise (Michel) Hudon, her uncle and aunts: Andre (Adele) Blondeau and Rose Blondeau as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Denise was predeceased by her dad Charles Hannotte, her brother Norman and her uncle Guy Blondeau. Denise was born on a farm south of Prudhomme, SK and, after a few years, her family moved to Hoey, SK. She graduated from St. Louis High School in 1977 and married Lawrence Cochet in 1979. She worked for the Ministry of Highways for 40 years. She did everything from flagging to driving graders and being the first female snow plow operator in Saskatchewan. At end of her career, she was diagnosed with a CBD Parkinson’s disease at age 57. She enjoyed golfing, river walks, sewing, gardening, Toast Masters and spending time with her friends and family. In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years. Thank you to the staff at Good Shepard and the many medical professionals that contributed to mom’s well being. A public viewing will be held at Kushneryk Funeral Service in Wakaw on Wednesday, October 25 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Louis Community Hall on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nora Vedress officiating. Interment of the Urn will follow at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Cemetery with lunch to follow. Donations in memory of Denise may be directed to the St. Louis Cemetery or to parkinson.ca.
