Denis Fournier
October 19, 1941 to September 22, 2019
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Denis Fournier. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Robert (Isabelle), Barry (Shelley) and Colette (Geoff), as well as grandchildren Justin, Chantelle, Luke and Jonah, and his special friend Geraldine. Denis was predeceased by his wife Diane in 2015, sister Esther and brother Paul. He is survived by his sister Laurette, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Denis was born and raised in Leoville SK. After finishing high school, he moved to North Battleford, where he met the love of his life, Diane Mitzel. They married in 1964, then moved to Prince Albert, where they raised their three children and spent many happy years together. After certification as a Steam Engineer, Denis worked at the Weyerhaeuser Pulp & Paper Mill until his retirement in 2000.
He was an active golfer and curler during his retirement, where he spent much time with former colleagues and new friends. In recent years, he also enjoyed travelling to Mexico and Europe.
All admired Denis’s love and dedication to his wife Diane, especially in the face of extremely difficult health challenges. In all aspects of life, Denis demonstrated perseverance and eagerness for new experiences.
