It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie (nee Nykiforuk) Jiricka. Debbie passed away on March 5, 2014 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 57 years. Debbie will be remembered for her sparkling personality and her loving and kind spirit. She was born on September 5, 1956 in Prince Albert, SK and was raised on a farm in the Steep Creek area. Debbie married the love of her life, Richard Jiricka in 1978. She had a huge love of flowers and really enjoyed being in her back yard; solar lights were her speciality. She also enjoyed reading, when she was not in the garden you could see her with a book in her hand. She enjoyed everything sparkly and full of “bling”. She had a very infectious laugh that could be heard wherever she was. Debbie is survived by her devoted husband Richard “Dick” Jiricka of Prince Albert, SK, her loving mother Mildred Nykiforuk of Steep Creek, SK, her sisters: Lynda Palibroda of Castlegar, BC and Barbara Tallant of Castlegar, BC; and her brothers: Raymond (Paulette) Nykiforuk of Lloydminster, SK and Michael (Trisha) Nykiforuk of Milestone, SK. Debbie was predeceased by her father Adolph Nykiforuk in 1978. The family would like to thank the Victoria Hospital Staff and those at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre for their great care during her time there. The Celebration of Debbie’s life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014 – 1:30 PM, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 452 – 30th St. E, Prince Albert SK. Interment to take place at the Steep Creek Cemetery at a later date.
