David Alan Jackson, late of Prince Rupert, BC (previously of Spruce Home, SK) passed away unexpectedly in Prince Rupert, BC at the age of 55.
David was born December 10, 1963 in Prince Albert, SK and raised in Spruce Home on the family farm. He went to elementary school at Spruce home, then attended Carlton High School in Prince Albert until grade 12.
David, growing up on the farm, learned the art of mechanics. This was an inherited trait from his Dad who also was a heavy duty mechanic. It came natural to David and he loved the challenge. David was a great mechanic and fabricator. He had the pleasure of working on many large and small engines, ships, helicopters and just about anything with an engine.
David was very adventurous and strong-willed which brought him down many paths in life along the way. When David left the farm in search of work he decided to travel west to British Columbia. He planned on stopping along the way in search of a place to settle down and make a home. Well that brought him all the way to Prince Rupert. He met a lot of friends along the way and made many more in Rupert. David loved Prince Rupert because of the warmer weather than we had in Saskatchewan and also the Salmon and crab fishing. He loved the ocean but in his heart he really loved the farm, and always called it home. David really loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. David would remind us when he was leaving to go, “Never say Good bye, only Till we meet again”.
We will miss you David, you are not with us here, but you are in our memories and our hearts forever. We know you are looking over us and now we will say “Till We Meet Again”!
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Christopher Kruger; special friend, Virginia McRae; his step-daughter, Kelly McRae and her two children, Tyler and Kaelyn. David has three sisters and one brother: Linda Cunningham of Salmon Arm, BC; Carol Jackson of Prince Albert, SK; Diane (Keith) Herzog of Mayview, SK; and Bob (Kathy) Jackson of Spruce Home, SK; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. David also had a very close friend, Trent Douglas of Prince Rupert, BC. David was pre-deceased by his step-son, Clint McRae; his parents, Douglas and Elsie Jackson; and his grandparents, Norman and Shirley Jackson, and Arthur and Mary Carriere.
A gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
