DAVID GEORGE (HOUSE) JEFFRIES
January 11, 1973 ~ June 7, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of David “House” Jeffries announce his passing on June 7, 2020 at Pineview Terrace in Prince Albert, SK from a serious infection.
David was born on January 11, 1973 in Kindersley, SK to George and Catherine (Cathy) Jeffries of Prince Albert. His brother, Kevin lives in Key Largo, Florida. David went to public school in Major and then to SIAS in Moose Jaw. During his school days he loved to play hockey and the family loved on “rink hamburgers” all winter.
David loved kids – as he never married, he was always pictured holding onto his cousins babies and many friends as well. He also coached hockey for years and enjoyed the job. He was a fellow that liked to see fair play and taught the kids to follow rules and be good sports.
David drove a semi for a while but always seamed to come back to people. He ran the Hoey Hotel for a few years and then went back to being a door man and bouncer in other hotels in Prince Albert.
David lived his whole adult life in Prince Albert and was usually quiet but had a large following of friends. He did not like to travel far from home – a true Jeffries as they tend to be “home bodies”. He did get to Key Largo, Florida once to visit his brother, Kevin. David had a special love for his two nephews, Brandon and Benjamin. They were very important to him. Brandon even lived with him for a while.
David enjoyed working for charitable projects. In the early days of “Jessie’s Garden”, he worked to raise money to get it started and keep it going. He was always buying or selling tickets for many organizations. He joined the Lions Club in St. Louis and supported them when he could. He always supported his mother’s organization “Golden Links Rebekah Lodge” and helped sell tickets or support their bake sales and other projects, such as decorating a float for the Prince Albert fair parade.
David is survived by his mother Catherine Jeffries; his brother Kevin and sister-in-law Kimberley of Key Largo, Florida and Benjamin; his nephew Brandon of Kindersley; his brother Marc of Montreal; and other nephews, nieces and cousins.
David is predeceased by his father George in April 2010 and he missed him very much. He was also predeceased by his grandparents Harry and Ruth Jeffries and Wilbert and Dorothy Petty.
David will be laid to rest at St. Katherines Prairiedale on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
