David Alan “Dave” Pisio
1965 – 2025
With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of David Alan Pisio, lovingly known as Dave, who passed away peacefully at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.
Dave was born on March 22, 1965, in Wadena, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Sinnett, SK. He attended school in Lanigan, where he held his first job at Beaver Lumber and, most importantly, met the love of his life, Linda, whom he married in 1989 and began a family.
Following high school, Dave worked at the potash mine in Lanigan and later in the oil field before discovering his true calling. He attended SIAST, where he trained as a meat cutter, beginning a career that spanned four decades. Since 1985, Dave dedicated himself to retail food, specializing in meat cutting. He owned and operated a Shop Easy Foods in Rosetown, where his boys grew up, before the family moved to Saskatoon in 2006. That same year, Dave joined Co-op, where he continued doing what he loved—supporting food stores and meat departments—working with pride and commitment until his passing. That same pride extended to his home, where Dave was meticulous about his yard, always ensuring it was well maintained and ready to welcome guests.
Dave is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Pisio (née Pilon), and their children Brett (Amanda) and Brady, who were the centre of Dave’s world. Dave loved nothing more than supporting and watching his kids in everything they did, from school events to sports and beyond, always serving as their biggest and most enthusiastic supporter.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Diane Pisio (née Sokochoff) and her partner Elmer Mauthe, and his in-laws Ed and Jan Pilon (née Irwin). Dave was a cherished brother to Terry Pisio (Yvette) and Karen Abrey (Kevin), and brother in-law to Glenn, Jeff (Dianne), Rick (Amanda), and Brad (Ashley).
Dave was a proud uncle to Blair, Brennon (Lindsay), Courtney (late husband Stuart), Adam F., Isabella, Jack, Thomas, Adam P, Kurt (Alyssa), Megan, Waylon, Sage, Frasier, and Mya, and a beloved great uncle to Otys, Esmée, Eleanor, Brooklynn, Laila, Mayer, and Nora. Dave will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends, all of whom held a special place in his life. A true dog lover to the core, Dave is also survived by his loyal companion Sadie, who remains close to his family.
Dave was predeceased by his father, Paul Pisio, and by several beloved canine companions—Mookie (1 and 2), Mischa, Buddy, and Bailey—who held a special place in his heart.
Dave found joy in boating and fishing, cheering passionately for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, and Saskatchewan Roughriders, and, above all, spending quality time with his friends and family. He especially cherished time spent travelling, camping, and making memories with his best friends Barney and Sharie Jensen and their children Cole, Alysha (husband Brayden and son Cale), and Kailyn (Levi).
Known for his excellent sense of humour, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty, Dave was easy to get along with and had a rare ability to build genuine relationships everywhere he went, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ches Leach Lounge, Art Hauser Centre, Prince Albert. All who knew and loved Dave are welcome to attend and celebrate a life lived with heart, laughter, and connection. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed, and may be viewed here: Livestream
