With great sorrow the family of Darrell George Villeneuve “Boo Boo” announce his sudden passing on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 21 years. Our most cherished son, brother, significant other, nephew, uncle, cousin, and great friend.
Darrell “Boo” was a wonderful person. He loved his friends, family, and his partner in life. He held them close to his heart. Darrell had a unique relationship with his dad, Darrell Sr. He loved his dad even during the most challenging times in their relationship. They had their own personal time together, and his dad spoiled him up until he was about 10, and then he became a momma’s boy. He was very close with his mother, Jenny. When Jenny passed away in 2018, Darrell was shattered. He would often talk about how much he missed her, and he would share stories about his childhood memories. His love for his mom was so cosmic, and he kept her memory close to his heart. Darrell could be remembered for making sure others were doing okay. He was a happy soul, always smiling, laughing, and spent a lot of time joking around. Some of his qualities were roasting people, quick comebacks, and would often make himself the subject of a joke. He loved his stand-up comedians, like Kevin Hart and Dane cook, to name a couple. He loved sharing their videos with his dad and brother, and whoever would watch them.
Darrell had a relaxing and laid back demeanor. He loved to chill and could be found playing games with his best friend, Hunter, and his cousin, Josh. Darrell met the love of his life, Alexia Ratt, in the summer of 2017. They instantly clicked and their love flourished. Like every relationship, they had their ups and downs, but their love for each other was unconditional. They laughed, cried, watched movies, binge watched TV shows, and Alexia would often sit and watch him play games. Alexia loved to soothe him by giving him back rubs and massages, but when he would ask for a 2 hour massage she had to draw the line. Darrell would often sing love songs out loud to Alexia, and she would sit and watch him in awe.
Darrell had a strong close relationship with his siblings, Dylan, Kayla, and Elizabeth. As children they would wrestle, have backyard bonfires with their parents, and spent many hours playing board games. He spent countless hours at his grandparent’s place. While at his grandparent’s, he would play ding dong ditch with his cousins, Brydon, Blaze, Greg, and Bryce. He spent many hours outside playing all kinds of games with them.
Darrell was very trustworthy and always had the right words to say to anyone. He was a hard worker, and loved the outdoors. He found peace and calmness in nature. He loved Dore Lake, a place he visited often with his family. Darrell was excited to start back at his seasonal job, and to start school in the fall. His goal was to get his grade 12, and move on to a full time position with his work. He wanted to have kids and talked about how he would be a great dad.
Darrell was a very loving, caring, gentle guy. He loved his best friend, his fur baby, Doby. Darrell and Doby were separated for a period of time, but reunited in December 2019. Darrell loved to take him on long walks and was slowly training him to be an obedient dog. He trained him to shake a paw, sit, go in the cage, go outside, and go for a walk. Doby was his ultimate friend, literally always at his side, and they were inseparable.
