It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Darlene Louise Folstad in the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, on February 25th, 2017 at the age of 57 years. Darlene was born to Patterson and Marjorie Stewart on January 3rd, 1960 and lived in and around Birch Hills, SK, her whole life. Darlene attended K-12 school in Birch Hills and worked on the farm, Produce World Pharmacy, CIBC, Quayle’s Pharmacy, and most recently at the Birch View Nursing Home. Darlene married David Folstad on July 28th, 1984. David farmed while Darlene worked and was active in the community. Together, they raised their only child, Cody, in Birch Hills as well. Darlene thoroughly enjoyed watching Cody’s many sports, mainly Hockey and Lacrosse. This took Darlene and Dave from coast to coast and many places in between. She enjoyed this so much, that when Cody wasn’t playing, you could catch her at her nieces and nephews different activities. She was very warm-hearted, kind, funny, and a jokester to those who knew her well. Darlene will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 7:00 pm, MacKenzie Chapel, 130 9th St. E, Prince Albert, SK. A Celebration of Darlene’s life will take place at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK, on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Darlene may be made to the Diabetes Association, Birchview Home, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium, Brian and Bev Stobbs, Tracy-Lynn Switzer, Funeral Directors. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.MacKenzieChapel.ca 306.763.8488.
