1949 – 2018
Darlene was born on June 22, 1949 in Canwood, SK. to Arnie and Jenny Anderson. Darlene grew up and attended school in Blue Heron and Canwood. She married Arnie Berg on March 22, 1969. Together they raised two children till his accidental death on March 6, 1974. Darlene and the kids moved back to Canwood where she remained until her passing. With help from family and friends she continued to raise two young children. She met Harley Lundgren in 1976 and together they spent the remainder of her life. Darlene enjoyed life, she worked at various jobs, but always had time to play guitar and sing a few songs with any of her family or friends. She loved the old classic country music. She spent countless hours visiting with family and friends. Her open door policy extended to everyone. She was a great mother and when she had grandchildren they became the light of her life. Darlene was a special lady who will be greatly missed.
Darlene will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by; her loving companion of 42 years, Harley Lundgren, Her daughter, Darcy (Michael) Turner of Watrous, SK and children: Jennifer, Spencer and Samantha Duvall, Her son, Kevin Berg of Campbell River, BC, Her siblings: Vivian Thiessen of Prince Albert, SK, Ernie (Marilyn) Anderson of Canwood, SK, Ronald (Charlotte) Anderson of Canwood, SK, Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by: Her parents, Arnie and Jenny Anderson, Her husband, Arnie Berg, Her brother, Wayne Anderson, Her brother-in-law, Herman Thiessen, Several other relatives.
There was a Private Family Interment on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Heron Cemetery. The Honorary Pallbearers were “All those who shared in Darlene’s Life”. The Pallbearers were Spencer Duvall, Ken Benson, Dale Westgard, Faron Anderson, Jim Berg and Bob Francoueur. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations in memory of Darlene may be made to Whispering Pine Place Activities Dept. Box 418, Canwood, SK.
