EDIN, Danita Katheleen – Was born May 17, 1978 in Melfort, Saskatchewan and passed away suddenly on May 11, 2012. Danita was the fourth of four children born to Bruce and Debra (Jones) Edin. The family had previously moved from Regina, SK to Melfort in 1976. Her father was a local businessman in the community for many years while her mother was very active in community service in the Melfort area. Danita attended Maude Burke Elementary School in Melfort. She continued her junior and high school years at Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate, finishing her schooling in 1997. She attended the University of Regina in 2000. Danita was an active, independent, intelligent, funny and caring child. No stray animal ever need worry about not being cared for if ever she came across it. She loved to take care of people as well as animals, and could always be counted on to offer her take on the situation. In 1998 she gave birth to her daughter Harley Rae Starr. She adored her daughter and attempted to further her education several times to in order to give her a better life. She was predeceased by her mother Debra in September of 2010, as well as her grandfathers Oscar Jones in August of 1999 and Harry Edin in March of 1980. She leaves to mourn her daughter Harley, her father Bruce Edin, and brothers Robert (Theresa), Tim, and sister Jacquelynne (Garrett) Mann; many nieces and nephews; grandmothers Kay Jones and Laura Edin; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service was held from FEDUSIAK FUNERAL CHAPEL, Melfort, SK on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Pat Langlois officiating. Tributes were given by Robert Edin and Jacquelynne Mann.
