Danielle Lori Nyland, June 15, 1992 – June 8, 2015. It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the tragic passing of my oldest child Danielle Lori Nyland, at the age of 22 years. Danielle is survived by her loving family, her mother: Lori Nyland (nee Regnier); her siblings: Jana Nyland and Gabriel Nyland; her grandparents: Frances Regnier and Palmer Jacobson; her grandmother: Anne Hart; her uncle Lynn Regnier (Laurie Pilon) and cousins: Kelly, Lane, and Ty Regnier; her auntie: Myra (Ernest) Valcourt and cousins: Adam, Marcel, Nicole, Richard, Rachel, and Jenny Valcourt; her three uncles: Peter, Matthew, and Lee Nyland and cousins: April and Jacob Nyland and their mother Carmen Nyland. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her four special roommates: Danyell McDermott, Jolene Lepine, Jessica Valila, and Angel Durocher. Danielle was predeceased by her father: Paul Nyland; her grandfathers: Leonard Regnier and Eugene Nyland; and her aunt Marnie Nyland. Danielle was born in Prince Albert, SK. The family later moved to Fort St. John, BC where Danielle attended kindergarten. They then moved to Norman Wells, NWT, where she completed the last 12 years of schooling and graduated. She moved back to Saskatchewan to begin a career in nursing. Danielle worked multiple jobs while attending school and at present was working for Prince Albert Group Homes. She loved her job and they loved her. Danielle was a very socialable person. She loved attending family events – camping and sitting around fires. She loved many things such as watching her brother play hockey, going out with her friends and laughing. She was always carefree, smiling, and making people laugh. You could always count on Danielle; she was very generous and always ready to lend a helping hand. A week before Danielle went missing, she and her cousin Sonya Boyer held a bridal shower at her mother’s house, a wedding she was to be a bridesmaid in. This she never got a chance to be a part of, because she was taken from us too soon. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts. Her smile was infectious. The Funeral Mass for our beloved Danielle will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 260 25th St. E, Prince Albert, SK. Interment to follow in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Missing Aboriginal Women of Saskatchewan.
