Daniel James Carter of Prince Albert, SK passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the age of 21 surrounded by loving family and friends following a tragic accident. Daniel was born in Prince Albert on September 11, 1989 the same day as his oldest brother’s birthday. They were the bookends of the family. Daniel will always be remembered as the guy with the big smile. His kindness and sense of humour were loved by everyone he met. Everyone says he has a heart of gold and through organ donation another person will too. Growing up, Daniel enjoyed playing sports including soccer, hockey, basketball and golf, especially once Rob corrected his “Happy Gilmour” swing. Daniel attended schools in Prince Albert, graduating from Carlton in 2008. Daniel worked at various jobs and was presently working for a paving company. He always said that he could work with anyone as a positive attitude could overcome anything. He had plans to attend Technical School to obtain a trade next year. We will miss his cheery “Hello, hello, hello” whenever he came in the door. Daniel will be dearly missed by his father Doug Carter, his mother Karen Anthony, his step-father Rob Burns all of Prince Albert, his siblings Devin Carter of Prince Albert, Derin (Heather) Carter of Moose Jaw, Laura Carter (friend Ryan Godin) of Saskatoon, his grandmother Betty Anthony of Parkside, his step sisters and brothers Heather Burns (Trevor Eagle) of Saskatoon and Coleen (Stuart) Ribey of Lloydminster as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many very special friends including roommates Trevor Kozinko and Jesse Pearson. Daniel was predeceased by his grandparents Roy and Mary Anthony of Holbein, SK and Ron and Doreen Carter of Prince Albert, his uncle Greg Carter of Saskatoon, his aunt Beverly (Anthony) McPhee of Saskatoon, his uncle Gary Anthony of Prince Albert. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25 Street East, with the Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment will follow the service at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes donations may be made to the Prince Albert Mobile Crisis Unit at director.pacrisis@sasktel.net.
