Daniel Fauchoux, 69, of Shediac, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 28, 2026, at Hospice SENB (Albert House). Born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, he was the son of Armande (Como) and the late Victor Emile Fauchoux.
Prior to his retirement, in 2015, Dan was a pilot for Jazz Aviation for 27 years. He earned his pilot license in 1978 and had a passion for travel. He and his aviation friends would fly to remote countries like Turkey and Malaysia, with their bicycles, and explore the regions on a shoestring. Later in life, he met his soul mate, Gisele and they traveled the world together, ticking off 75 countries. Dan was a captain in the air and on the water, enjoying many summers boating in Georgian Bay. There were always projects on the go, and Dan would generously share his “fix-it” skills with family and friends. When he wasn’t tinkering around the house, you could find Dan on the golf course or at the pickleball court.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Gisele Aucoin; three brothers: Lionel, Michael (Elaine) and Marcel (Sandy); as well as an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
In memory of Daniel, a contribution can be made to a charity promoting pancreatic cancer research; to Hospice SENB (Albert House); or to the Dr. Georges‑L.‑Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297)
