Daniel “Danny” John Mardell, age 71, of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 30 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Mr. Eldon Danielson will officiate. Danny was born in Prince Albert, SK on October 4, 1943. He graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School and continued on to receive a Journeyman Certificate in Mechanics. Danny worked at the family business, Mardell's Husky Service for more than 40 years. He operated the towing of all vehicles. “Big or small”, he towed them all. He was a trusted and respected mechanic for many regular customers and a natural with finances which afforded him many other successful business ventures and opportunities. Danny was a car enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, traveling, building Model airplanes, watching hockey, classic western movies, reading and spending time with his family. Danny is survived by his sister Joan and her husband Eddie Listwan; his niece Sherry and husband Ron Ostrom who have three daughters Alexandra, Harper and Marlowe; his nephew Darryn and wife Michelle Listwan. He is reunited with his beloved parents Louie and Mary (nee Kissel) Mardell and his sister Sophie Mardell. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Mont St Joseph Care Home for the care provided and the friendships developed during Danny's last years of his life. Danny was a devoted son, brother, friend and great uncle who will be dearly missed and forever loved and cherished. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Garden of Devotion, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M.
