It is with profound sadness that the family of Cynthia Marie Tessier (Uhryn) announce her passing on December 25, 2022, at the age of 44. She passed away at home, with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her husband, Robert, and their children, Kathlyn and Dallas; She is survived by her mother Arlene Uhryn (Oliszynski); her brother Jason (Oksana) Uhryn; her sister Jennifer Uhryn; her parents in law Ronald and Madeleine (Gaudet) Tessier; her sisters in law, Crystal (Patrick) Poupart, Roseanne (Gilles) Roy, and Natalie (Jeff) Reeder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and godchildren. She is predeceased by her father Ernest Uhryn.
Cynthia was born on May 3rd, 1978, in Rosthern, SK, to Arlene and Ernest Uhryn, and attended Wakaw School. In 1998, she earned a diploma in Swedish Massage Therapy and went on to practice massage for 13 years. Cindy and Rob started their life together on July 10th, 1999 and lived in Saskatoon, Martensville, and Prince Albert. She was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer in 2004, and through the years, despite numerous surgeries and treatments, she continued working and raising her kids. In 2009 she made the decision to close her practice, giving herself the opportunity to maintain and preserve her quality of life and focus on their young family.
She was a dedicated dance and volleyball mom. Nothing brought her as much happiness as packing for competitions or a tournament to watch her children perform on stage or cheer them on from the sidelines.
But her illness deteriorated drastically during the pandemic, to the point of needing palliative care. The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Breanna Davis for the unending, unconditional care she provided. The compassionate care she received from the nurses and doctors at The Victoria Hospital and the Palliative and Continuing Care aids was unparalleled.
Cindy appreciated everyone who understood what we needed and intentionally, and selflessly provided support, especially throughout the last year. She wanted to thank those who reached out, stopped by, or texted just to say hello.
At Cynthia’s request no formal service will be held, A Come and Go, Celebration of her life will be held between 1:00pm- 3:00pm at Plaza 88, 888 Central Ave, Prince Albert, SK on Friday, December 30, 2022.
