Cynthia Punter, 66, of St. Albert, passed away Friday, September 5th, 2025 at Mesericordia Hospital in Edmonton Alberta, after an unexpectedly short fight with cancer.
Cyn is survived by her long-time partner Craig Lyster, her three children, Adam Northey, Candace Northey-Purton (Brendon Purton) and Daniel Mislan Jiricka and her two grandchildren Oliver and Thomas as well as many close friends and extended family members that cared for her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Jacobson (nee Young) ,and father Ralph Punter.
Cyn was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where she lived her entire childhood and young adulthood. She spent a short time in parts of Manitoba as well as in Saskatoon, but always ended up back in Prince Albert until she moved to Edmonton and then St. Albert, which remained her home for over 30 years.
She was an avid salesperson, successfully selling everything from lingerie to furniture over the years. Her success led her to eventually be able to achieve her dream of owning her own business. She had a wedding shop in West Edmonton Mall for several years which she later relocated St. Albert.
When not working on her business, she loved to garden, decorate her house, play cards and camp with Craig.
Cyn was a small woman with a large personality. Her grandkids defined her as the ‘ grandma that swears’. She didn’t hold back but was kind. She had an effect on everyone she met and built up an impressive group of friends and colleagues over the years.
The family will be hosting a small wake at her house this week with an internment happening at a later date.
