Craig Batley
1954 ~ 2021
Craig Leonard Batley passed away September 20, 2021, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 67 years.
Craig was born on March 25, 1954, and raised in Waskesiu, SK. He was known as Batman to his friends and loved ones; the nickname was an embodiment of his character, persona and approach to life. He set an example of integrity and honesty; with a contagious sense of adventure and genuine appreciation for the little things, through this thing called life. He always lent a helping hand and it seemed that just about anyone was welcome at his table. He was a real-life hero to his children; a legend, and he leaves a legacy to be carried on. He was tough but ultimately kind; flawed but striving for the best. He was a loving and loyal son and his children count themselves lucky and proud to have had him as their father and grandfather to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and infinitely loved, as he would say- “love you, infinitely”.
Craig is survived by his daughters, Zerrin Mueller, Dree Batley; his son, Quillan Batley; his grandchildren, Tate Batley, Lily Barber, Ember Batley, Orion Matyi, and Vega Matyi; his aunt, Yvette Craig of Calgary, AB; and numerous Craig, Rogers and Jones cousins throughout Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Ruth Batley; his paternal grandparents, Samuel & Julianne Batley; his maternal grandparents, Orville and Illida Craig of Codette, SK; his aunts and uncles, Bruce Craig, Donna and Frank Rogers, Cora and Albin Jones, Blaine Craig, Denton Craig; and his cousin, Lindsay Jones.
The Memorial Service for Craig will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Little Red River Park by his friends. Due to Covid concerns, family will gather for a funeral service at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Lisa Bos-Atchison, Funeral Director.
