Cornelia “Corre” Barentsen passed away peacefully at Birchview Care Home, Birch Hills, SK on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 91 years.  Corre was born in Middelburg, The Netherlands, the youngest daughter of Willem and Adriana Barentsen.  As a toddler she arrived in Prince albert, SK, Canada in 1928, with her mother and four siblings, to join their father who had preceded the family.

Corre became an avid member of the Arts Centre, participating in varied forms of art and embraced members of the club in long lasting friendships.

Corre was predeceased by her parents, Willem and Adrian Barentsen; brothers William, Martin and Stanley (Noni); sisters, Lena (John) Eskes and Sarah (Harry) McKenzie; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Irene Barentsen and Doris Barentsen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family extends their gratitude to Birchview Care Home for their kindness and care, especially making Corre’s last days more comfortable.

In accordance with Corre’s expressed wishes, there will be no funeral service.
