Cooper Rothwell was born at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. July 31/2016 to parents Carlie and Chance Rothwell. Cooper resided with his parents at their farm near Parkside, SK. until his sudden passing on December 21/2020. Cooper welcomed his younger sister Caitlyn with the utmost joy on June 1/2020 and quite quickly claimed her as “his” baby!
Cooper loved to learn and was an information sponge, constantly surprising all who knew him with his depth of knowledge on a wide range of subjects. He spent much time reading, learning to print, and making projects with his Mom. Cooper started pre-school in Shellbrook, Sk. this past September and could not wait to catch the school bus each morning that he attended school. He came home tired but full of stories about what he had learned and who he had played with that day.
Cooper couldn’t get enough time in with his Dad, helping him with whatever he was working on in the yard or shop and checking out the cattle and equipment. One of the favorite pastimes he had with his Dad was constructing anything he could out of LEGO or setting up his large play farming operation which took up most of the basement in the winter and an unlimited sandbox in the summer!
He loved sleepovers with his Grandpa Jim and Uncle Kale and learned about fishing and loved playing and singing Rock and Roll with Grandpa Jim. Cooper took every opportunity he was granted to spend time at Grandpa’s and often talked non stop about all the things they had done and he had learned!
Cooper spent whatever time he could with Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Wendy, quite often this involved rides on the Gator, walks in the pasture, helping with projects in the yard or garden, or just simply playing at whatever there was to play! On the really great days, trips to Grandpa and Grandma’s coincided with visits from his cousins Lainey and Brantley. Cooper and Lainey shared a special bond and whenever they saw each other they met with a huge hug followed by running off together holding hands and searching out whatever trouble they could get into!
Cooper also loved to spend time at Auntie Shyla’s and Uncle BJ’s playing with Lainey and Brantley and helping Auntie and Uncle with whatever projects were taking place!
Cooper was a monster truck fan, loved all things “truck” and “Super Hero”. He loved to be dressed up with “Spiderman”, “Batman” and “Superman” clothes on and would grab a towel or blanket to use as a cape and tear around hollering Superman! Batman! Or sometimes SuperBatman!
Cooper was a calm and contemplative person with a very engaging personality and a smile that melted your heart! It did not matter whether he met someone 7 months old or 70 years old when you met him you were friends!
Cooper and his Uncle Kale passed away in a tragic automobile accident on December 21/2020 near Prince Albert, Sk. at the age of 4 years. He is survived and dearly missed by his loving parents Carlie and Chance Rothwell; his little sister Caitlyn Rothwell; his grandparents, Jeff (Wendy) Rothwell and James Smith; his great grandmother June Rothwell; his great grandparents Leonard and Margaret Abraham; his aunt Shyla (BJ) Verbonac and their children Lainey and Brantley.
Cooper is predeceased by his grandmother Denise Smith; his great grandparents William and Sophie Tenaschuck; James and Ella Smith; Byrnne Rothwell; his uncle Kale Smith.
A Celebration of Life and Interment will take place at a later date.
