Connie Handley (nee White)
It is with heavy broken hearts that the family of Connie Handley (nee White) announce her passing on March 30, 2026. She passed away at home in the arms of her loving and devoted husband Kirk Handley, after an incredibly hard battle with cancer.
Elizabeth Ann Connie was born April 8, 1964, in Lewisporte, Newfoundland. Her parents, Claude and Madeline White, had eight children of which Connie was the third youngest. Connie had many fond memories of Newfoundland and loved to tell tales of her adventures. Her love for her siblings, fishing, and bonfires all began in Newfoundland.
When she was around 14 her family packed up and moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. That was the beginning of new adventures, new friends, and the search for new fishing spots. Connie met Kirk and the stars aligned beautifully. They became inseparable and began building a life together. They lived in many different homes, in many different towns and cities and no matter how tough times got, they would always be happy as long as they were together. They married on July 22, 1995, while living in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. They raised two beautiful boys, Corey and Aaron, that she was so very proud of and were her pride and joy. She loved telling all of their childhood stories, accomplishments and current events. The pride would shine in her eyes whenever she spoke about them.
In 2006 a new adventure began and the first of six grandbabies was born. Connie adored being a grandma. As her family grew, so did Connie’s love. In 2023 she was given another surprise when a great-grandbaby was born. There was always enough grandma love to go around. Connie’s love for her family and friends was unparalleled. Every moment was precious to her. She loved being surrounded by those she loved, whether it was playing with the kids, fishing, sitting around the fire, or showing off her flowers or cabin, but most of all being with her grandbabies. Connie was such a bright light and will be missed by all who had the privilege to meet and spend time with her.
Connie leaves behind her devoted husband and soul mate Kirk; her sons, Corey (April) and Aaron (Nicky); and all of her grandbabies, Deagon, Merrick, Arianna, Adecyn, Araya, Draevyn, and great-grandbaby Nessa; as well as numerous sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her father, Claude White; her mother, Madelin White; sister, Brenda Smith; brother, Pearce White; mother in-law, Olga Foster; father-in-law, Fergie Foster, and numerous in-laws.
A Private Service will be held, and a recording of the service will be provided here once available.
