It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Colin. He is survived by his wife: Leander; daughter: Cienna (Kelly); grandchildren: Emma and Hunter; his sons: Cory, Christopher (Tracey); grandchildren: CJ, Trey, Carter and Taylor; one sister: Donna Dupre (Lou); his special Aunt Vicki from Carrot River, his most favorite place to visit, his mother-in-law: Lorraine Sayese; his brother-in-law: Christopher Spence; his very good friends: Eric Gustafson and Judy Tubman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents: Roy and Nora McShannock. Colin grew up in Prince Albert. He attended Tech High School for a short stint and then went off to Riverside where he finally graduated. As a teenager growing up he loved playing hockey and playing with cars. He worked various trucking jobs until he landed a position at the Provincial Corrections Centre in 1979, and earned himself the nickname, “Buffy”. He stayed at the Centre for 27 years. Colin lived at Bells Beach, Christopher Lake most of his life and enjoyed fishing, quadding, snowmobiling, working on vehicles and many beautiful sunsets from his deck. Just before his retirement he acquired the love for a little girl named Sugarbear. She was his dog! She followed him around like a shadow. He retired in 2006 and enjoyed working at various jobs that kept him happy until his health began to deteriorate. He moved back to Prince Albert in 2016 and still enjoyed his car club meetings and would be mad if he could not get out and go. He did many visits to the hospital in Prince Albert and Saskatoon during this time fighting diabetes and heart disease. Finally, on Friday, June 14th, he was freed from his battered vessel. His spirit is now free. He is cruising in one of his many classic cars into the sunset with Led Zeppelin blasting on the stereo! Love you forever and always Colin. A Come and Go Celebration of Colin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, 300B – 300 Marquis Road West, Prince Albert, SK.
