Cobey Danielle Freed
May 17, 1984- April 28, 2020
With broken hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our daughter, Cobey. She passed away peacefully on April 28, 2020 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with her family by her side.
In the short time that we had Cobey in our lives, she lived her life to the fullest. She filled her years with family, friends, archery, hunting, fishing, poetry, exploring nature, travelling and off-roading in her Jeep and quads. She also had a green thumb for gardening and enjoyed many different kinds of foods but she loved her sweets the best. Cobey had many obstacles in her life that she was able to overcome, sadly, she was not able to overcome her health issue.
Born and raised in Prince Albert, she was predeceased by her grandparents: Julian and Hazel Kormish and grandfather: Archie Freed; her aunty, Sharon Nogier; her uncle, Don Kormish; and cousin, Denise Tower. Cobey leaves behind her mother: Brenda Freed; her father: Darrell Freed (Celine); her son, Chase; Aubrey (Nicole & Tracy); her sister, Shannon Billo (Devon); her brother, Deon Freed; her brother: Ridge Freed; her step-siblings: Kirstie Young and family; Billy Young; her grandmother: Shireen Freed; her aunts and uncles: Phyrne Chesney (Mike), Linda Federation and family; Darlene Tower and family; Michael Freed (Tracey) and family; Robert Kormish (Jaylene) and family; Leverne Kormish (Linda) and family; Donna Holt (Randy) and family; Lorraine Burroughs and family; Edward Burroughs (Mar) and family; Val Kormish and family; Lorna Horton and family; Lloyd Horton and family; Aunt Sharon’s family; Uncle Don’s family; her favourite niece, Amara; her friend and companion, Mark Wingerter; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Throughout her journey, Cobey made many close friends that she loved deeply and they share in our loss, especially her best friend, Taylor Aleksey. The family would like to offer special thanks to Carmand and Troy Gosselin for spending time with Cobey in the hospital, and Father Maurice for the love, support and prayers.
Although Cobey was taken from us too soon, her spirit will live on in all those that she’s touched. We ask that in lieu of other tributes, donations in her memory be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Due to COVID-19, her Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Tracy-Lynn Lenchuk, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
