Clyde Lutkin

Clyde Ernest Lutkin passed into eternity on March 31st 2024 at home surrounded by family at the age of 87. Clyde was born on December 31st, 1936 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Lutkin and Dorothy Long Lutkin. His mother’s family (Lang/Long) immigrated to Pennsylvania as religious dissidents from the German Rhineland in the early 1700s. His father’s family came to Philadelphia from Sheffield, England in 1870 as shoe makers and established a well know shop in Philadelphia.
Clyde completed his formal education in New Mexico and was a school teacher in Arizona and Prince Albert. He served as Learning Resources Consultant for Prince Albert Public Schools from 1974 until 1991. After retiring, Clyde and his wife resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Santiago, Chile and Saskatoon.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Clara Fernandez de Lutkin, his children Mark Lutkin (Lynda), Shannon Mensinger and Claudia Fernandez (Bruce Walliser); grandchildren Jaryn Lutkin (Susan), Sarri Lutkin, Devin Adair, Sheena Mensinger and Simon Mensinger; great grandchildren, Rowan Lutkin and Annika Lutkin and good friend, Hanif Hemani. Clyde was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Laneen Adair in 2005, youngest son, Sean in 2023 and granddaughter Hailey Belanger-Weeseekase in 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish (211 Avenue O South, Saskatoon, SK) with Fr. Kevin McGee officiating. The family have put together a slide show in memory of Clyde. Please visit this link
