Clifford Robert Letendre
1951 – 2024
Clifford Robert Letendre passed away peacefully with his son and daughter by his side on February 3, 2024. He was born in Duck Lake, SK on July 21, 1951 to Eugene and Noella Letendre and spent his early years on the family farm in the Batoche district. After the death of his father, he moved to Prince Albert, and eventually married, Kathy Ellingson and began a family; Carey (1973), Clint (1977) and Tena (1979). Cliff and Kathy moved to the Alingly district with their young family, living just a few miles from his brother Don and his family. Family was always important to Cliff as he had a special relationship with his nephew, Clayton and niece, Julie. Cliff worked hard as a carpenter to provide for his young family, often working away for long periods of time. He instilled in his children a strong work ethic as they helped in the family’s market garden at a young age and Cliff modelled for them throughout his life the importance of hard work. Cliff completed the Metis Housing Administration Program in June of 1994 and became a certified house inspector which was a career he took great pride in for close to twenty years. Cliff looked forward to spending time with family most every Canada Day long weekend at the Letendre family river lot, just a few miles south of the Batoche Historical Site. It was through stories around the campfire there that the next generations learned of a legacy of resilience and hope. Left to mourn his passing are his children and grandchildren, Carey (Jodi) – Andrew, Tessa, & Geordy; Clint (Sarah) – Jesse, Damir & Alexis; Tena (Gary); as well as his siblings Maurice and Andre; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Clifford will always be remembered as a dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle who loved to tease and who was the epitome of stubbornness. Cliff’s family would like to thank the caregivers at the Herb Bassett, Lakeland Trail for the care and compassion they showed Cliff for the past few months and them, especially over the past few days. In lieu of other tributes, memorials can be made to the Herb Bassett, Lakeland Trail by selecting it using this link https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E123043QE&id=27. At Cliff’s request, there is no formal funeral, but the family is hosting a come and go tea in his honour from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel (575 28th Street West, Prince Albert).
