1920 – 2021
Clifford Erick Weberg was born on the family farm at Kilwinning on October 3, 1920, to Peter & Maria Weberg. He passed away peacefully at the Shellbrook Hospital at the age of 100 years on June 1, 2021.
He took his schooling at Honeywood and Spruce Glen Schools. Farming was Clifford’s passion, and he spent all of his life doing what he loved. He married Ida Haldorson on January 1, 1942, and they went on to have two children, Eleanor who was born in November of 1942, and in July 1945 Ervin was born. He started out renting land in Valbrand from Paul Eklund. In 1946 they moved to Rayside area and rented land from Evert Bloom.
In the spring of 1952, he purchased the Carl Wickholm farm in the Dry Creek area. In 1980 they bought two lots in the town of Canwood and built a new home which Ida never got to see. In the spring he moved into his new home by himself for 7 years.
In 1988 he married Dorthy Hurd whom he met when she was teaching at the Native Bible School in Canwood. They spent 16 winters in Arizona; he was 86 the last winter they went. Dorthy passed away in November of 2016, and Clifford was by himself again. In July of 2020, he moved to Lilly’s Lodge in Shellbrook.
Clifford is survived by his children, Eleanor (Ed) Bahnuick and their children, Dean (Pamela) Bahnuick & family; Brent Bahnuick & Family; Ervin (Rita) Weberg and children, Jason (Christine) Weberg & family; Jody (Andrea) Weberg & family; and a daughter-in-law, Kristin Weberg & family; 20 Great Grandchildren; 11 Great Great Grandchildren; and a special nephew, David Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends made over his 100 years.
Clifford is predeceased by his grandson, Jamie Weberg; his loving wife, Ida (Haldorson); his second wife, Dorthy (Hurd); his siblings, Swan, Emma, Olaf, Bertha, David, and Martha; and his parents, Peter & Maria Weberg.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be a Private Family Graveside Service held for Clifford at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with Pastor Glenn Blazosek officiating. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Clifford to Lilly’s Lodge in Shellbrook (Box 155 Shellbrook, SK S0J 2E0).
