Chris Johnstone April 12th, 1947 to April 26th, 2022
Christine May Johnstone passed away peacefully with her brother Jim and her niece Anita by her side at the Victoria Hospital after an eleven-year courageous battle with Cancer.
Chris was born on April 12th, 1947 to Ted and Christine White. She was raised in Love, Sk. Chris was one of eight children. Chris met Frederick (Johnny) Johnstone and had two wonderful sons. Johnny was already the father to a beautiful daughter so their family was complete. Chris and Johnny settled in Prince Albert. Chris enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom raising her boys. After Johnny passed away, she enjoyed the friendship even more with Gloria who was her neighbour. There were some serious Yahtzee games. Chris greatly enjoyed her summer trips to see her kids and grandkids in Alberta and B.C.; no Cancer or surgery was going to get in her way of those visits. Chris was so happy and blessed to see all three of her children (and two of her grandchildren) at the same time for her 75th birthday that she celebrated shortly before her passing. It was such a memorable visit for everyone and she talked about it daily and held the pictures close to her until her passing.
Chris is survived by her bonus daughter Marni-Ann (Wayne), grandsons Mackenzie and Colton (and sons); her son Terry (Michelle), grandchildren Hunter and Kalli; and her son Mike (Lisa), grandsons Ryan and Conner; her sister Muriel; brother Jim (Doris); brother Ed (Ruth), sister Joyce; sister Doreen (Wilf); her sister-in-law Laura; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Gloria, Sue and John. Chris was predeceased by her parents Ted and Christine; loving husband Johnny; parents-in-law Thomas and Anne; brothers-in-law Gordon, Peter and Ed; brother Bob and baby sister Betty.
A special thank you to Dr. Haider with the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, Nurses Jen and Lori from the Prince Albert Cancer Clinic, her family physician Dr. Balingit, Level 5 physicians Dr. Bischoff and Dr. Moodliar and ER attending physician Dr. Samson, for the excellent care she received throughout her journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 at 2pm at the East End Hall, 205 10th Avenue East, Prince Albert, Sk. In lieu of other tributes, those wishing to make a memorial donation can do so to the Prince Albert SPCA, Saskatoon Cancer Clinic or your charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at c/o Chris Johnstone, 1288 2nd Street East, Prince Albert, Sk., S6V 0H1.
